Cement Stabilised Crushed Rock Driveways After 5 Days
Stabilised Rock Driveway Strength Test – Project Update
G’day Team, one of the most common questions we get asked is: “How hard does a stabilised rock driveway set?” On this recent project, we used 6% cement-treated crushed rock, which was carefully spread, rolled, and compacted to a solid 100–120mm thickness.
After just five days of curing, the results speak for themselves – the surface has hardened to the point where a demo saw was required to cut through and create a clean join for the new asphalt connection. This demonstrates the strength and durability that cement-stabilised driveways provide when installed with the right preparation and compaction.
Not only does this method deliver a long-lasting and hard-wearing surface, but it’s also a cost-effective alternative to full concrete, making it ideal for residential, rural, and access driveways throughout the Yarra Ranges.
At Yarra Valley Crushrock Driveways, we pride ourselves on delivering driveway solutions that balance affordability with performance – built tough to stand the test of time.
